MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Gil Shaw
Greetings! Presenting a.c.e.r.'s latest (and first) mobile armed platform. Hopefully the start of a trend, returning to this too long delayed line. (URL) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —James Harkness
(...) I love the legs very powerful looking. I love the whole thing really sleek design. Definetely keep this trend up. -Semaj (URL) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Gil Shaw
Thank you sir. The legs were the jumping off point for this little guy....I had them sketched out before the rest. Must be an after effect of poking around in .mecha..... Cheers, -G (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Allister McLaren
Dang that's good. Very solid and compact. It looks as though even if it ran out of ammo, it'd do a fair amount of damage just by ramming the opponent. Nice one. Allister ...thinking mecha thoughts... (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Gil Shaw
Solid...good to hear! That was the goal for this - a little machine that could take a beating in any situation. Thanks, -G (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Thomas Jost
(...) It bristles with weapons although it's so small and mobile - that's what I love about it. Great model, Gil! Regards Thomas (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Gil Shaw
Thanks Thomas! I tried to keep the size down so I could hopefully employ it in larger platforms. Now onto those larger platforms....yikes. Cheers, -G (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Gil Shaw
Mnay thanks Stephen....the levers were an afterthought, but I liked how they looked. Originally there were hoses from the knees to the back of the thigh area, but it restricted the posability. I have to marvel at how those mecha guys get these (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —John Henry Kruer
Very cool, Gil. The legs really work well with the cockpit- its hard to make an armless mech that looks right. The use of the dish and round brick design for the hips also is nice. You are the master of things that stick out! You really did the back (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Gil Shaw
Thanks John! You nailed it with the notice of the oversized hips. I found I had to puff them out a bit to make up for the lack of upper appendages. Some of the design is inspired from the Zetradi mechs of Robotech Macross, smooshed together with (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Jamie Neufeld
That's a nifty little Mech you built there. It reminds me of my SM-388 robot I built a while back only this is 10 times better. I like what you did with the hip joints. Looks very good. Good to see a moc show up under the a.c.e.r. banner. Jamie (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit —Gil Shaw
Thank you sir! I'm glad you recognized the SM-388 in this as it was indeed an inspiration for it. Actually, I first had the thought to do this mech after I built the Bodkin fighter using the JSF canopy and 'miniboat hull' wedges. With a workable (...)      Woah, Gil's moving in build.mecha territory... I'm getting nervous... ;-) Dude, this little guy is awesome! I love how the legs flow so seamlessly into the rest of the body. Plus, it's compact form makes it ideal for transport and mass production. (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: MOC: a.c.e.r. Insertion Mech Unit w/ msg for curator —Gil Shaw
Thanks so much Paul! The intention of this guy was to go into mass production to allow the a.c.e.r. Custodians a way to get as many troops to the trouble as possible with overwhelming force.
