Once I saw Chris Maddison's Osprey Podfighter and Joe Meno's comment about
mission-specific add-ons, I started thinking of various things that could be
attached to a pod.  So here's a new pod and three modules for it.  They're
all at:
http://web.ics.purdue.edu/~martinam/MartianDesign/ModPod.htm

The first mod is for spying and collecting data.  It's pretty small and simple.

The second is a personnel carrier.  I used rounded corners to try to make it
look appropriate for attaching to a pod.  It has the same kind of sockets in
the back as the pod does, so it can be part of a chain of modules.

The third is a bomber that two pods attach to.  I guess we just saw one of
those, but oh well.  They were fun to make.  I've got plans for at least a
few more, too.

(...) Nice design. (...) Cool. Although whether those 5 minifigs are really comfortable is still up for debate. ;) (...) Very neat. I like the idea. Once the mission is done, if they came under heavy fire, the two pods could just split off and make (...) (22 years ago, 11-Oct-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Man, that's way cool! The modularity of yours and several other designs seems such a natural extension of pod tech. Now I want to go ahead and do this, too! Thanx! Peace and Long Life, Tony Alexander (22 years ago, 12-Oct-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Very cool - I like the directions it creates and the dish orientation works well with the pod. (...) This one's the meat and potatoes. I really like the idea, the shape works well, and the doors on the carrier open nice. Very cool. (...) I (...) (22 years ago, 12-Oct-02, to lugnet.space)
