Hi Jacob,

Thanks!

Well, after seing the Roboschool, the Communications Tower, the huge M-Tron
power plant, the awesome Space Diner I thought I could never get to that
level of building... But sometimes it are 'the little touches' that can
lift a model up... And I tried to cram a lot of little touches in here...

Well, I just thought what's 'the bare minimum' I would need for an
appartment I would live in; I already intergrated the kitchen into the
living room, and I don't have space for a washing machine (but I know
someone will come up with a Launderette Module ^_-) and I consider that
there are not enough closets/cabinets to store stuff like 'more clothes',
books, and off course Lego boxes!
But I wanted to build 'living quarters', not military barracks... And
because I only have 3 'classic-space' minifigs I needed an excuses to put
non-classic-space minifigs in there too <grin>

Well, I actually built the hallways first, because that's the main essential
part of the moonbase construction; I didn't want to build a strucure on
struts or stilts, so I planned on building stuff underneath (using the space
there) but that led to 'the stairs' which became necessary... I originally
planned a 4-exit corridor, 2 stairs (one to the living quarters, the other
to the engine room) and living space to hold up 3 minifigs (including 3
separate bedrooms) but I ran out of space! But I still had the corridors
and basically held them at there place when I started designing 'my second
version' of the module...

Well, I wanted a toilet with a movable lid, so it became bigger... Not much
to do about it!

Wel, I started to run out of white plates, and I needed a way to reinforce
them... And then it struck me that I could use them a bit 'as a canvas'...
And it worked out very well!

One thing is sure, the Moonbase Project will have brought loads of people
out of their builder's block and/or Dark Age...
Glad you enjoyed it!
