  Regarding praise....

This subject was touched upon in a different thread, but it is a matter that I wanted to drag further into the light, as it is very important to this community and others like it. The message is very simple: Never, never be discouraged by a lack of (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general) !

(...) Thanks, dude :) Jeff (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

  Re: Regarding praise....

(...) I'd probably send more direct notes if it wasn't for a nasty bug somewhere in outlook that causes an error when I click on the email in the web view. I have to cut and paste the email address in, which cuts back on the impulse "hey that's a (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

  Re: Regarding praise....

(...) Lar, any idea what is causing this? LUGNET seems to be the only site that gives me this mailto: error. Jake --- Jake McKee LEGO Enthusiast Webmaster - BI Portal (URL) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

  Re: Regarding praise....

(...) I never noticed this (mostly because I don't use outlook :) - but I do have outlook at work, so I tried it... sure enough, it's broken. I believe the reason is that LUGNET shows the mailto link with double quotes: "Dan Boger" <dan@peeron.com>, (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) Thanks, Matt. I've felt a bit discouraged- but I'm moving on! -JHK (who finally has an idea for a space ship) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

(...) I think Dan nailed it. However let me add that once in a while double quotes seem to work unless I am misremembering. It seems to be if there is no subject line present, but I'm not sure if that's true or not either. (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

  Re: Regarding praise....

The fact that I have to wait several minutes, then open up AOL, then jump through hoops in order for it to finally post something, tends to discourage me from posting, or responding to things. (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

  Re: Regarding praise....

Very well said, Matt. I also have the problems of sticky firewalls at work and slow dialup connections at home. I look at almost every MOC in .castle and .space and many in .town, as well as reading certain threads in .general, .fun, etc. But I (...) (22 years ago, 24-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)

  Re: Regarding praise....

(...) Are you a member? Lugnet members have fewer hoops to jump through to post a message. Of course, some still have hoops with their ISPs, firewalls, etc. For some $10 (US) is a decent sum of money, for others it is nothing (depending on age, (...)   Re: Regarding praise....

Hello all! This seemed like the obvious thread to say that I've had some problems using the Internet at work and have been forced to be a passive reader of .space for some time. I was unable to give the praise I thought was due. At home I am now (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jul-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.general)
