Hey, I hadn't expected to see it so soon! I definitely like the original
better, but I'm having a hard time determining precisely why. I do like the
updated interior, but I think the original cockpit design worked best. The
wider profile and shiny front reminds me of the general look of the vehicles
and technology from Minority Report, actually... (which, incidentally, looks
to be an interesting movie. I call dibs on making a MOC of the flying
police-thingy). Generally, I think the fact that it's wider, and the front
isn't nearly as angular or starwarsesque (hard, worn, functional) , breaks
up the mood the original one had. I can't say as I like the Slave I pieces
very much, no matter where they're used... I think, honestly, the engine
bank is a little large for the ship. It sticks out from the hull and just
seems a tad bit too large (although that could easily be the entire point.).
I definitely like the new guns in the front with the droid bodies, those
look very nice and fit with the look of the ship. Overall, though, the
Neverwhere II just looks a bit too large, too fat. I really think I'm going
to try and snag some of the smaller 1/4 circles, and try making a Neverwhere
fighter/runabout/gunship. That, and that awesome-looking flying thing from
Minority Report... Despite all the changes, though, the Neverwhere II is an
awesome ship!
