You asked for it!!! —Jude Beaudin
We will have an Ice Planet 2002 contest in June. This will allow people a chance to plan and clear out their building schedules. (I have a train show in April) Entries should be accepted from June 1st to June 15th and voting will be held from June (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests) !

Re: You asked for it!!! —Curt Tigges
(...) I can probably help-what sort of thing do you need? Rules written up, or will we have the same ones as in the Blacktron I contest? Websites built? I can help with either of those and most other digital aspects. Curt Tigges Commander-in-Chief (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: You asked for it!!! —Tony Hafner
(...) Here's one suggestion, brought about by Todd's musings regarding voting rules from the first contest: Instead of disqualifying an entry because the owner didn't vote... just give that entry a negative vote (or two if you want to encourage it (...)          Re: You asked for it!!! —Paul Hartzog
uh, not all of us have the free time to get in here every week, or peruse all the entries, or judge them... a little flexibility is alway kind -p (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: You asked for it!!! —Jude Beaudin
(...) Paul, That is why there will be almost a week between the end of the entries and the beginning of the voting. This will give two weeks to pick your votes. The Scrutinizer (...) (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: You asked for it!!! —Richard Marchetti
(...) As someone most of whose collection is currently in storage, I admit that this rule hurts the possibility of my participation. =( There's no way I made room for IP2002 elements amongst the things I actually have with me to build with in real (...)          Re: You asked for it!!! —Jude Beaudin
(...) Richard, Firstly, ONLY this category (Ice Planet Paint) is model only. The logic is it will prevent the use of an element that does not exist in a specific colour and even with a collection of hundreds of thousands of pieces, there are certain (...)          Re: You asked for it!!! —Tony Hafner
(...) How about another category for CAD only: XI: Scene: Rendered scene of official or MOC IP-themed models in their native habitat (on or in orbit around an icy planet). -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: You asked for it!!! —Jude Beaudin
(...) I like it. :-) And we'll see if we can enter the winner on ldraw.org's SOTM. Jude (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: You asked for it!!! —John P. Henderson
(...) <snip> I've been short on internet time this month, so I will add my 2 cents regarding everything in this thread so far in one message: First, on the basic idea of this contest: Cool! I like the idea of not having to wait until December, and (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: You asked for it!!! —Frank Filz
(...) I'm glad this is real models only. I'm not very impressed by a CAD model which is just a color edit of another model. Not very much creativity. of course this category doesn't represent that much creativity, though I look forward to seeing (...) (23 years ago, 31-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

More Ice Planet 2002 contest rantings (was: You asked for it!!!) —Tony Hafner
(...) I was wondering where you were- I thought you would have entered the BT contest for sure. -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (23 years ago, 31-Jan-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)

Re: You asked for it!!! —John P. Henderson
(...) Huh? Perhaps trans-orange might be more available than my memory serves, but I never thought of trans-yellow as rare. I will admit though that my collection of spare space parts leans heavily towards the early 1980's sets... Plenty of (...) (23 years ago, 1-Feb-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.contests)
