New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Paul Hanson
Hi everyone - I've just uploaded some pictures of my latest model: (URL) a near-future, one-man (two if they don't mind sharing a bunk) ship for looking for minerals on asteroids and small moons. Lots of sensors and junk on the outside, and a cozy (...) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Tom Sciortino
Hey, that's pretty cool! Love the color scheme and the realism. I especially like those touches of yellow and black. I can't quite tell if that's trans red glass or IcePlanet orange glass. Good use of the many shades of grey - makes it look very (...) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Paul Hanson
(...) Thanks! Glad you like it. The windows are Ice Planet orange - not exactly my favorite color, but sometimes you've gotta use what you've got :-) I actually tried several highlight colors before I settled on the yellow - it had to stand out but (...)         Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Mladen Pejic
(...) Wow! That is one great looking ship! I really like that huge sensor in the front, as well as the interior. All the small "greebles" are neat too. Fantastic work Paul. (...) Maybe? ;-) (...) Mladen Pejic, over and out! (URL) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Mark Sandlin
(...) Looks good. :^) I like the command chair with all the little panels, and the window used as computer screen is a nice touch as well. ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Adrian Drake
(...) Very nice! It looks very utilitarian, like what you'd expect a space explorer would look like. Adrian (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Mike Petrucelli
As one of the only MOCs I have had time to look at recently, I must say that is very good looking. I particularly like the Technic gear on the doors. It just adds that extra detail that catches one's eye. Great way to make a toilet too. -Mike (...) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Paul Hanson
(...) Thanks, man. I wish I could say that the toilet was my idea, but I "borrowed" that one from someone else (if I could remember who, I'd give proper credit). Glad you like it, anyway! - Paul (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Kyle Keppler
(...) I used the toliet idea myself on my big ship: (URL) But I didn't make it either. :-P Todd made it a while back. (URL) (The pics seem to not be working for me, your milage may vary...) --Kyle (URL) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Jeffrey M. Szklennik
(...) near the bed, is that a huge computer or a really kickin' stereo? (or both?) jeff s (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Paul Hanson
(...) LOL! Actually, I had intended it to be an engineering console, but I suppose it does look like it could provide a little bass-thumping entertainment, too. Rock on! - Paul (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Jeffrey M. Szklennik
(...) the whole ship looks great! i especially like the efficient, yet cozy interior--plenty of storage space, which is especially important so one can bring one's favorite lego sets on long trips! jeff (23 years ago, 30-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Wow, Paul--that ship is so very, very cool. Why is it cool? Well, because it's so perfectly and authentically ugly. It's one of the very best utilitarian craft I've seen in a long time around these parts! The small cabin, lack of privacy, and (...) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Paul Hanson
(...) Thanks! You've nailed it on the head - this was exactly the feeling I was going for. - Paul (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —George Haberberger
(...) Paul, I just have to add to the previous superlatives, what an awesome belter's ship. Do you read much Niven? I love the interior detail, the exterior detail, the thrusters. Thanks, George (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Paul Hanson
(...) Glad you like it. I have to confess that I've never read any Niven, but I understand that he's one of the masters - maybe one of these days... I just finished the Red/Green/Blue Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson - I think I may have been (...) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Duane Hess
(...) Yes, very nice. It looks strictly utilitarian like a work vessel should (IMO). Your caked on greeblies add to the effect nicely. -Duane (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Stephen F. Roberts
(...) ...Stunning!!! (and you can never have too many greebles :-) ...It has a very "stuck together" look that goes great with the prospector theme. Like they tried to throw together everything they'd need... and then some :-) ...Excellent work! (...) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Kyle Keppler
Yrrruuuuummmmmmm. So many greebles and junk. Very nice indeed. I love the big huge sensor with the support from the TIE. The "shocks" on the landing gear is schweet also. The "bass speakers" in the back are great too! Rock on! PS That is the best (...) (23 years ago, 29-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —William R. Ward
(...) Funky cool. Grey and trans-orange, what a combo. But it works. Where'd you get the side windows? I don't recognize those. I dig the airlock. But there's no docking hardware... A husband-and-wife prospecting team would probably be a good choice (...) (23 years ago, 30-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Paul Hanson
(...) The orange window glass comes from an Aquashark set ((URL) and the gray frames come from the bulk train window pack. (...) Good point. I hadn't even thought about this - I though of the airlock being used only for EVA, not for docking to (...) (23 years ago, 30-Nov-01, to lugnet.space)

Re: New MOC: Planetoid Prospector —Paul Hartzog
hey paul, (nice name) and VERy nice ship it looks like a piece of junk (and thats a big complement) as someone else said "a great belter's ship" and your "overkill" ship in your bshelf is completely amazing you've really got yourself a very personal (...)
