Re: How to Build a LEGO Geodesic Dome

(...) This is excellent, Holger! Thanks for pointing it out to me. Last night I was chatting with another builder who mentioned another dome, and this must be it. Very nice model, I'm blogging it. (17 years ago, 17-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: How to Build a LEGO Geodesic Dome

Hi Jon, thanks for sharing your Dome and the instructions and thoughts behind the scences. Just recently German AFOL "treczoks" covered the "the last of it's kind" under a half-soccer-ball-dome: (URL) In year 2153, 45 years after the big bang this (...)   Re: How to Build a LEGO Geodesic Dome

(...) OK, that's really cool. Did you try using just 5 holes of the wheel for the 5 pt vertices? It might solve the problem of having to force the pentagons, which probably will deform the connectors after a time. Might not look as good though. (...)   Re: How to Build a LEGO Geodesic Dome

(...) That is awesome. Very informative too. I have tried building a "bio-dome" using trapazoidal facets with techinc angle connectors. I couldn't ever get a working geometry that lined up with lego parts without getting so big it would be (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: How to Build a LEGO Geodesic Dome

(...) Well, since I totally missed the MOC the first time around, I'll say "thanks" and "WOW". This is magnificent, Jon! I think that this would be great fun to try and replicate one day. Very impressive; very kewl. Very well played. I bow to the (...) (17 years ago, 15-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, FTX)

How to Build a LEGO Geodesic Dome

Hey everybody. I finally got around to posting instructions for the geodesic dome I built back in 2006. Please take a look: (URL) Let me know what you think! Can't wait to see some cool domes (or spheres) from other builders! (17 years ago, 15-Jan-08, to lugnet.general, lugnet.space, FTX) !!

  Re: PCS Industries Cargo Center

(...) Excellent work! I love the industrial look of this MOC. The landing pad area looks somewhat like an off-shore oil platform. Very cool! The way you did the round supports is very cool and they look great. I also really liked the design of the (...) (17 years ago, 9-Jan-08, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: PCS Industries Cargo Center

(...) Very well done. I like the lights outside of the large ground-level door. It is nice to see a big utilitarian space base that looks used and useful - not a sterile large block. -Matt :) (17 years ago, 8-Jan-08, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Question about set 6959...

(...) I guess it's the access hatch to the underground chamber. As it's barely accessible for a human hand, I guess it's supposed to be a dungeon, but on the other hand, we don't want our prisoners to sabotage our secret spy satellites, do we? So, I (...)   Re: Sirens can be US or UK sirens as well!

(...) Actually, there is only one siren which plays both sounds as far as I can tell. You turn the knob on the top of the siren to change what sound is played. Thats how it is on all the sirens I have seen anyway. (17 years ago, 23-Dec-07, to lugnet.town, lugnet.space)
