Glory, glory! (reviews of various sets)

Hi all! Yesterday I was browsing my local KB Toys when I stumbled upon some dirt cheap LEGO mismatched among the lowly clones. I took one look at the sets and went to get a basket, a large basket. When I walked out of the store I was grinning like (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Prototyping

(...) [...] (...) Well, you've got some great parts ideas, and it's your call, but I'd much prefer you reveal 0% of your prototypes. Personally I want to see ideas on a finished MOC because the challenge of application brings concepts like context, (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.space)

Re: B.I. Joe: A Real Imagination Hero!

(...) I really like the nose solution on the Skystriker. And to think I heard people complain about those wedge slopes when they came out! Man, they are one of my favourite pieces ever. Well, I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing more vehicles, (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: B.I. Joe: A Real Imagination Hero!

(...) Not necessarily, though that would certainly be a novel way of doing it. Other alternatives could include light-grey Technic pins or a sparse amount of studs (like one per corner). Magnets would likely be easier than the alternatives, though (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: A.C.E.R.'s Iron Doves

Gil, Great job on the new A.C.E.R's equipment. I love the fluentness of them all :D. I agree with Dan on the Dragonmoth though-kicks butt like Neo on an Agent!I like how your models are small but detailed at the same time-like mine but better :) (...)   Re: Micro Tanker/Dropship

(...) Nice! The tanks are good, and the winglets look good to. They work well as sort of guiding surfaces, rather then actual lift wings, which I think does make it look like a missle. -JHK (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Walrus System Shuttle

(...) Love the TravHatch. The folding ramp and openining hatch is too cool. And the vessel has a bit of rugged utilitarian look, too. I always like an interior. -JHK (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Someone's borrowin' my space.

(...) The guy's a hack. Why waste time looking at his grafitti when we can come here and gaze at the Sistine panels? Turd? PCS Division wouldn't tolerate turdiness, solider. No worries. Cheers,-G (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: We are KLINGONS! (O.K., pods)

(...) Love it! I wonder if you could fit a minifig inside the POD part... that would be cool. -JHK (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: B.I. Joe: A Real Imagination Hero!

(...) Many thanks Lindsay....truly high praise from such a grand military builder such as yerself. The bluewater ships....(insert Homer drool). Would love to see some other's interpretation of the Joe lore. The Terror Drome..you bet. I remember (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: A.C.E.R.'s Iron Doves

(...) Thanks! Yep...the D-moth got all the SNOT ideas and sultry curves out of the bunch....gotta love (and sometimes hate when difficult) that JSF canopy. Cheers, -G (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: A.C.E.R.'s Iron Doves

(...) Thankye, kind sir! I really liked the modularity of some other designs out there and wanted to incorporate it into the squad. Notice a little bit of the Black Streak in the Piper? You should....I started to get the idea for it after seeing the (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: A.C.E.R.'s Iron Doves

(...) Many thanks Anne...they all were fun, the Piper gets a fair amount of the allotted 'whoosh-time' around the house. Cheers, -G (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Someone's borrowin' my space.

(...) I wouldn't be too concerned. If he'd called them pre classic space figures without permission you might have a case, otherwise, hey, it's a free market. The other thing worth noting is that there's only a couple of days to go and there are (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Someone's borrowin' my space.

(...) But PLEASE not too big, and not animated. It's so nice not to see HUGE sig images on LUGNET, I hope that doesn't change with FTX. -Tim (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)
