  Re: The Quasar

(...) Well, I didn't originally intend for it to look like that, it just... got that way, hehehe. But I guess it's shape doesn't really matter, since its intended only for space. (...) Thank you. The only way I was able to get it that way is because (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. Do you think it's better even than my SuperRavager ((URL) consider that to be my best model. (...) Thank you for your comments! (...) Curt Tigges ~~---...---~~ Home: www.commandercurt.net AtlantiSearch: (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

(...) Hey, thanks! I can imagine this very well as a corvette, which I believe was a sort of escort. A large fleet of my Tankers sorrounded by the Heavy Fighter... Sounds cool. Partrol boat is also cool. I can imagine fighters taking rounds (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

(...) It's a fleebnork! :) To be more specific, it's a fleebnork power source. The fleeb's energy field is used to power the bike. (...) I'm liking the term corvette, this seems a little small for a destroyer. I would think of a destroyer as around (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: The Quasar

That's very cool. The melding of slopes in this is nice, and you've done a good job on making this believably wingless. The engine structure on the back gives a nice feel to this, and the lifting part out of the compartment is just plain brilliant. (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: The Quasar

(...) also pleasing, for a ship without distinct wings. I like your combination of slopes on the top/rear to give it a smoothness and a sense of bulk in a small area. I imagine a squadron of several of these would look nice swooshing down to (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: New Space MOCs

(...) Hey JHK! I don't have a lot of time left online today, so I will have to be brief. Just wanted to say I like your stuff as usual. Not a big fan of the hover-bike thing, but I do like the compartment in the rear and how it hinges open. Is that (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: A Question of Size

Tony, Thanks for the link. This is really informative. But my post was meant to refer to specifically LEGO space creations (the way 'SHIP' is a lugnet term, not an actual scifi term) - in other words, developing a vocabulary for subSHIP lego (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: OFW IV "WolfSpyder" and the FCS ESAT "SpyderNest"

(...) That's pretty neat. The posablility is nice, and those antenna compounds are truly revolutionary. (...) Wow! That is awesome. There is a lot to like on this MOC... particullarly the cockpit and the weapons array on the top. The way the (...)   Re: A Question of Size

(...) I am not so certain that we ever will, nor whether we need to, come to a consensus on this subject. In the real world, different nations have different definitions of things like "Capitol Ship", "Battleship", etc. I think in our own fictional (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: OFW IV "WolfSpyder" and the FCS ESAT "SpyderNest"

Hey Jamie, the arms are actually pretty highly posable. the sholder rotation is the best and it is strong. The elbow needs a little saran wrap on the end of the anntena ball to make it nice and stiff, but now it can hold those huge guns! As for (...)   Re: OFW IV "WolfSpyder" and the FCS ESAT "SpyderNest"

Thank you David! I made the upper arms short and made the forearms elongated as sort of my homage to the Bubblegum Crisis suits. The only thin I wish I could do is make the "hands" more real looking but at such a small scale, well... The enclosed (...)   Re: OFW IV "WolfSpyder" and the FCS ESAT "SpyderNest"

Chris, I am please that you like both of the creations! The antennas were an evolution in mecha suit design and I think I have reached the end of that evolution, I want to build something different. The suit mounting went through oh, about 5 (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

Re: OFW IV "WolfSpyder" and the FCS ESAT "SpyderNest"

Hey Mark! I think support equipment makes all the mecha that much better! Mecha needs back-up and want to build it! The engine was the actual start of the whole thing, I sorta built around it. Thanks! out (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.build.military, lugnet.space)

Re: to greeble or not to greeble

Agood example of both greebled and smooth too can be seen throughout Ken-tucky Works. He buildds almost all his ship in a similar fashion; "structure, starwars-like pipings(greebles), and skin." His style blends the greebles and the smooth into a (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  A Question of Size

Inspired by JHK's latest creation : (URL) was some question about the validity of calling one of his creations a "heavy fighter." Recently there was some talk that nailed down the definition of a "SHIP" (~in excess of 100 studs in any direction). I (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: MOC: The Bipolar Bear

  Re: New Space MOCs

Gotta love your new stuff. The heavy fighter is my favorite, the detail is really amazing. I think it would be best classified as a corvette or patrol boat though. Please build more models like this! Take care, Soren (22 years ago, 12-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)
