  Re: A minifig scale F-14....

I like! Nice use of the new slopes on the nose, gives it quite a predatory look. This reminds me, I need to build a warplane again soon. Magnus (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military)

Re: legends space set, my thoughts as to the reasoning based on what brad has said

(...) Well, I'm a twelve-year old boy. And I would much rather prefer the 'blue boxes with wings.' I mean, does galaxy commander look like a box with wings! And (to get a bit off-classic-space) does mission commander look like one? I would much (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.starwars)

Re: legends space set, my thoughts as to the reasoning based on what brad has said

(...) So Brad never denied that "Classic Space: The Movie" is currently in production? ! (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.starwars)

Re: legends space set, my thoughts as to the reasoning based on what brad has said

(...) Well, Brad Justus (Senior VP of Lego Direct) spoke to this issue a little bit at BricksWest, and the understanding that I took from that is pretty much exactly what Jonathan was describing. It's for marketing reasons, not because of any (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.starwars)

Re: legends space set, my thoughts as to the reasoning based on what brad has said

(...) I hear you brother! <snip> (...) Okay, sure. Who knows why? I mean really know why? Only the nice men/women in suits sitting in an office somewhere. (...) Jeesh! I wonder if people were this shook up when slopes were first introduced... New (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.starwars)

  Re: A minifig scale F-14....

(...) Thanks! I was going to post in military originally, but the red really made the plane go toward space. And I have lurked in .military-really neat stuff! I want to build a tank of some type, but I need to get treads. And them's not cheap! Joe (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: A minifig scale F-14....

(...) You had to ask the scale thing didn't you?:) Well, I checked the scale with that Lego Scale Converter and got the following dimensions: Length: 57 studs/65.14 feet Actual F-14 Length: 62 feet. Wingspan (open): 46 studs/52.57 feet Actual F-14 (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space)

  Re: A minifig scale F-14....

(...) Very, very nice. In red, it has this .space-y quality, but I'm crossposting this to .build.military, where this sort of thing shall be especially appreciated! :) (Come see us! *tempt tempt*) LFB (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.military)

  Re: A minifig scale F-14....

(...) That's a really nice looking Tomcat! How close is it to actual minifig scale? It's a good use of the new contoured slope pieces too. It's a shame that Lego doesn't make realistic looking military airplane canopies, and we have to make do with (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.space)

  A minifig scale F-14....

is what I ended up building. Not what I expected, mind you, because I just wanted to build a swing-wing plane. That's all:) Then I got carried away. The end result is a swing wing with working landing gear and landing gear doors and an opening (...) (23 years ago, 27-Mar-02, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.space)
