(...) example code I think that adding a form of RF communication via the PIC is well possible and the PIC can oeprate as 'communication front end' for the spybot. (...) Performance is an interesting question. For the article example where I used a Devantech SRF04 Sonar and a Sharp GP2D12 IR Rangefinder, the performance is limited by the senors. (...) This is certainly possible. I connected the serial port receiver of the PIC to the IR receivers on the Spybot in hopes of detecting my own transmissions for use as a simple proximity detector.
