  RE: gigamesh problem

(...) I was wondering when this was going to come up. You probably didn't set the Spybot type properly. If you look closely, all the Spybots except Snaptrax have a simple geartrain that reverses the motor direction. Snaptrax drives things right off (...)   gigamesh problem

Has anyone else had their Gigamesh run (it seems) backwards when using the default program? Without any fiddling with the controller device I pressed the run button on my Gigamesh once I'd built it. It works as I expected except it moves backwards (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Programming multiple controllers

Don't you wish they'd supplied a booklet! A couple of diagrams of what communicates what to what and when and how would have been very useful, especially after the batteries start running down and its not clear which element isn't doing what it's (...)   Re: Programming multiple controllers

(...) Thanks for the pointers! I got three to work independantly now. Rather odd that with four different robots, LEGO didn't design in 4 differnt channels as well. The way the remote is set up, it could have worked like David Koudys suggested. (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Programming multiple controllers

(...) I like Ralphs way better... To quickly change b/w 'bots using 1 controller, switch to 'lock mode' (straight down) and press a button (1-3) *without* pressing the 'key' button. This just changes the 'channel' on the controller and not on the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Programming multiple controllers

(...) Got it! Playing at work with Gigamesh... You put the controller on lock (straight down position) When it's there, press the key button (bottom right button, until the spybot beeps. For me, I held the key button and pressed any other button (1 (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  RE: Programming multiple controllers

(...) David, You need to establish a secure COMMS link. Here's how... First, the online technical manual for the Spybiots is a bit hard to find. From the opening screen, click on the black button in the "communicator" in the bottom left of the (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Programming multiple controllers

(...) I thought somewhere in the Spybotics software, it mentioned to put the controller in the lock position, press a button (1 thru 5) and point it at the spybot. WHen the spybot beeps, it's 'tuned' to that channel. Do the same for all the others, (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Programming multiple controllers

Has anyone figured out how to get multiple Spybots to work at the same time? It seems that all the controllers I have will now make all the robots move at the same time. I've searched in vain for a simple description of how to make this work. -- (...) (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: new newsgroup lugnet.robotics.spybotics

(...) I agree. The time to do so is at hand. Steven (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Re: Which spybotic set is best?

(...) If it's a desktop machine, you most likely have COM port. The question is, do you have a *free* port available. Have a look at the back of your PC and look for a DB9 or DB25 male connector (with pins). It may be labeled IOIO. -Rob. (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Re: Which spybotic set is best?

(...) What do those 'hand's do? On snaptrax and Technojaw, it seems to bump up with the touch sensor, but what do they actually do? (...) Thanks! -JHK (22 years ago, 26-Jul-02, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

Re: Which spybotic set is best?

(...) Yeah, my computor is a Pentium 3, 11 Gigabites hard drive, etc. Only, how do I figure out if my computor has a serial port, without hauling the computor from its corner and unwiring it? -JHK -P.S this is, as far as I can tell, the first 'fan' (...)
