You can't actually do this the way you describe. You can't pulse the motor outputs as required to drive the FOS with the standard firmware. The FOS has only one LED, and the VLL signal is a bit more complicated than on/off. You can use the scout VLL (...) you may want to hold off on purchasing an IR tower, john barnes is working on one that uses the power from the serial port(doing away with the battery) and the parts should be very cheap. i will be working on a free-form solution that should fit (...)
