Hi As allready described in a other thread i have build a bluetoothconnection between pc and the RCX. There is one thing that the serial bluetooth is only available to tx/rx with a minimum from 4800 baud. At first i compiled brickos 0.9.0 with (...) Somewhere in the bowels of the header files within the RCX SDK is a list of "IODEVICE control commands" which does include description of messages required to change baud rate on the USB tower. I am assuming you're not using the LEGO Windows DLL (...) (16 years ago, 30-Apr-08, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Hello Bernhard, (...) I just checked the source code. There is no speed setting for usb tower in the code. If you look into firmdl3 you also find that fast mode is disabled for USB, because it doesn't work. I think the USB tower sends at 2400 baud (...) You should scan for some old posts by either John Barnes or Philo concerning the different "IR transceiver" chips used between RCX 1.0 and 2.0 and between serial vs USB towers. I use BrickOS (LegOS) but I'm not expert in the inner workings. The code you have here appears fine to me. So, it may be a bug in BrickOS, or a problem elsewhere in your code. I tried my own skill on writing a program for the included lego test pad (RIS 2.0), and I discovered something weird. I have a big and somewhat complicated BrickOS program that I believe is reasonably well behaved. All my loops monitor shutdown_requested and I have tested stopping the program with the Run button while the program is in various states and it always (...) Hi, lnpd is a very old program and has several problems, it does not support the protocol used by brickOS, lacks support for the USB tower and may lose packets as soon as they get too large (>8 bytes or so). (...) The h8300 gcc compiler is really buggy across different versions of gcc/binutils. Using the wrong version of binutils/gcc with each other always causes extremely strange problems on my RCX. (...) Danny, I've not used C++, but I have seen problems like this. For me, it happened when the firmware in my brick didn't match the firmware I compiled the program to use.
