Hi everyone!!!
Im a desperate soul in search of some answers and no much luck, so Im writing
here to see if someone can help me...
Im trying to control two RCX bricks from one or two towers on different
computers (this depends on the answers I could find). My objective is to move
the RCX with the help of a camera (to find the current position, direction and
stuff like that) and the tower that should tell the RCX how to move and rotate.
Both RCX are in the same area but they perform different moves, and here is the
problem, Im using RCXPort to communicate because I need to be sure that the
message is delivered, but how could I know witch RCK send the ACK??? Do I need
to use RCXF7Port and program my own acknowledge protocol or there is another way
to do it?
In the other hand (and if the first problem wasnt enough) Im experience a
really bad performance in the delivery of the messages to mi RCX, so it will
really great to know if there is a way to reduce the TimeOut for the packets to
be resend and if there is a way to ensure that the tower is set to long range...
Please if someone can help me on this Ill be really appreciated...
Thanks in advance.
By the way Im using leJOS 2.1 with a W2k OS and a Lego Mindstorm 2.0

| What I would do is give each RCX an internal "name" -- an identifier. When you send a message from the PC, the first part is the identifier. So if robot B gets a message intended for robot A, it should ignore it. And vice versa. The same thing would (...) (21 years ago, 29-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)
