I'm not sure about how many I/O ports the H8/3000 in the RCX has. Are they all used in the RCX? (25 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) It requires batteries to be in it all the time. you get 60 seconds with it off and the batteries out. I just tried my new IR remote for my RCX and it doesn't work at all. So then I tried downloading a program with NQC (which I have done for quite a while) and that doesn't work either, I just get "No response from RCX". What's going on, is my RCX (...) Is there any tech. documentation/FAQ's for the remote control? Basically I need to know what it sends to the RCX. Does it send special opcodes, or regular RCX 1 commands? I don't see any remote control ops documented, like there are in the RCX 2 (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Quick questo, which no doubt has been answered time and time again, is it possible to use rechargable batteries in the RCX1.5 ? Luis, I found a half dead 9V battery and put it in my tower. I am getting similar results, except I hang after the first or second reading. Something like: 0) 41 1) 41 And that is it. Go to the mindstorms aisle at eToys.com, they have both the RIS 1.5 and RIS 1.0 listed, and both are in stock. Great way to get an RIS with the power jack (and, more importantly IMHO, the "notch" that allows a LEGO wire to be conveniently routed (...) Luis, I am here. I tryed your code. The interesting this is the first time I tryed it I got the following results with the towwer turning off after 5. (...) Luis, You might want to look at my rcxtcl package. It has all of the stuff you need to make messages for the RCX. Currently, the tcl code makes the messages for uploading firmware bytes to the RCX, but there is a routine that will take a (...) (25 years ago, 7-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
