As the page is in Japanese, did you saw there is a movie : (URL) ? It is 'just' the ATAT walking by itself... Anyone started to build one with your lego parts ? Something difficult actually, no ? So, look at (URL) has made an ATAT with the Microscout ! Sad that there is no picture for the mechanic inside :-( Can someone translate the page in English ? Hi Andy, The library Spirit.ocx cannot to this operation. You can however program it yourself pretty easily. Hi, In the RCX command center there is a dialog that enable you to send a value from the PC to the message buffer of the RCX. How is this implemented using spirit.ocx? As near as I can tell, I must have had the RCX examine tool polling the brick as I tried to download a program. Perhaps one too many windows at a time. Anyway, things got very strange. The brick would not respond to anything and merrily churned (...) (26 years ago, 5-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) Mindstorms uses an ActiveX control called SPIRIT.OCX to communicate with the IR tower. As far as I know, it only opens the COM port when some application is actually using the .OCX, so the port should be available for use if you're not running (...)
