Sigh.... ... .
How the $%^&* will we ever get smart, interested,
technical professionals to really make a difference
in the schools when they run into this. THis. This...!
Sigh... I am using RIS1.0 on 6 old 486 machines with
WIN95. The school was just offered 20 486's with
CDROM drives and monitors and keyboards (no mouse),
for $10 each from Vermont State Surplus. We will be
giving them away to kids who need them. THEY will run
RIS but many school districts wouldn't even accept them
as a gift because they're 'behind the times'.
I saw Dave jumping thru hoops at Mindfest trying to get
machines working, and THAT was at MIT!.
Bob, just scrounge more of your own machines, and truck
them.. I have 6 386 and 486 machines I cart around to do
"Bits & Bytes". And 6 old XT's I use for "Computer Demolition".
My cellar is full, but I know I will have working systems when
I get there. Also a great physical fitness program.
PLEASE don't give up!
