 | | ?? LabView - Sub Vi's, variables ?
|
| A few questions about programming RCX using LabView's Inventor Level 4. (Is this proper group for posting?) 1. In using Inventor level 4, can a user create sub VI's? As programs get more complex, I'd like to break them up. I am somewhat familiar (...) (26 years ago, 20-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| Paul, I've snipped all of the text about how RoboLab and the Mac might not play nicely together. I have had great results with my own system at my office, and then when I did the tutorial at MIT, things failed miserably. I turned off the large (...) | You could try using NQC (or MacNQC) and see if it works any better. I know in the long run you want to get Robolab working, but testing MacNQC would at least separate a Robolab-only problem from more general problems (serial port problems, cables, (...) | I'm a user, not engineer, but.. you might want to try this if you haven't already. I had the same difficulty and went through all the toubleshooting methods you have. This is going to sound silly, but has worked for me: With the IR tower on low (...) (26 years ago, 20-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.edu, lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

|
| Hello, I'm teaching an RCX-based programming class using the Robolab software to a group of 19 4th,5th and 6th graders. I've been trying to get the Robolab software installed and running on the Powermac 5500/225s and 6400/200s owned by the school. (...) | Anyone tried accessing spirit.ocx from Visual Basic 5 in Win NT 4? I get a "failed to load dll" error. Thanks, Garry Hayne (26 years ago, 18-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| Thanks for pointing that out, Kory. I've since downloaded the .zip files and I'm sure I'll have more success. See you in the l.r.p group... Ed (...) (26 years ago, 17-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
| | | | | Palm Pilot and the RCX
|
| Hi folks, all you Palm owners out there, don't forget to check out the lugnet.robotics.palm newsgroup. The earlier problem with BrickRemote and LRemote turned out to be the server. The programs work fine now that they are in a .zip file. See: (URL) (...) (26 years ago, 17-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
| | | | | Re: Serial Comm with RCX
|
| Well, it's hard to say what the problem might be. Since you've got the green LED going, you've probably got the cable wired correctly. And yes, it's 2400 baud, 1 start, 1 stop, 8 data, odd parity. Perhaps the packet isn't correct. Here's a sample (...) (26 years ago, 16-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
| | | | | Re: Serial Comm with RCX

| Garry- I can't speak to your problem specifically, but you may actually want to try to make the HP speak directly to the RCX, skipping the IR Tower altogether. Someone claimed to have done this months ago, but never posted any code, so I have no (...) (26 years ago, 16-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
