BricxCC now has preliminary but fully functional support for compiling and executing PC-based scripts to control your programmable brick (NXT, RCX, Spybot, whatever). Recently, I've bought WiiMote (Nintendo Wii Controller), which can be tethered to a regular PC via Bluetooth. You can then use for example this library - (URL) - to read WiiMote buttons, IR and accelerometer data. I've combined this with a simple (...) (17 years ago, 27-Jan-08, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

If your IR tower still functions, and it's just a matter of not having a serial port, the simplest solution would be to just buy an adapter that will allow you to hook up a serial device to a USB port. Guys, Just retrieved my (dusted) RCX kit & a few spybots, when I move things around, unfortunately, my notebook does not have serial port any more. Moreover, the CD does not support XP either. I just gave my 12 year old daughter a RIS 1.0 (yep, an original one with the 1.0 RCX) set for her birthday. Sorry I have to bring this up again, I think it would be nice to actually have a universal binary version of MacNQC around. Does anybody know somebody who could help with achieving this?
