I suspect there is a combination of things going on here: 1. Christmas rush for the kits that are out there. 2. No further production of 1.5 since 2.0 will be out shortly (anyone know when, exactly?) 3. Possible recycling of kits still in TLC's (...) (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Last week I called S@H about getting a 9719, the Robotics Invention System: version 1.0. No problem, they said they had plenty. pbForth is going great now. It's made this toy just what I had hoped for ! Anyways, I was thinking if I could use my IR port from my PALM3. Or, would the serial port work if plugged ( arrgh...its too wide ) into the IR lego tower & use a terminal (...) (24 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

Thanks for the flood of email indicating that RCXTCL is broken! My own stupidity kept reloading the cached version, and it was, of course, OK. Once I reloaded Windows on my machine, the problem was obvious. Anyways, the new RCXTCL.ZIP can be loaded (...) I was reading about these yesterday. They appear to have a serial port: (URL) anyone who understands these things able to get it to interact with our friend the RCX? Hi All, I've recently installed the new cygwin distribution on my system, and tried to get legos working with it..... my legos works fine with cygwin b20, but this new distribution seems to kill it :( Now, I think the reason is because the older (...) I have the firmware on the brick, as it displays "4th". Trouble is...what do I do next...what settings to use in Hyperterm / crt and to the post itself ? Like baud / error correction / tty terminal ? / echo... I get garbage all the time from the (...) (24 years ago, 8-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

I've read an advance copy of this book (thanks Ben!) and recommend it *highly* in fact, I'll be buying 10 of them as soon as they are available, one for me, and one for each of my LEGO Robotics team members. The WAIT FOR ROTATION and WAIT FOR ANGLE icons do reset the angle sensor before they do their wait. However, there are several other programming constructs that will not require the angle sensor to start at 0 every execution. The LOOP WHILE ANGLE (...) I've been experimenting with the Mingw port of the GCC toolchain and have succesfully built almost all of the utility programs. firmdl3.exe even works in the fast mode!
