I reset an errant NXT and completed downloading the firmware. But the NXT still would not wake up and stayed in Samba mode. Trying to download firmware immediately after latching the battery pack and hearing the Samba beat, gives me a "Cannot locate (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)
