Re: NXT Bluetooth "Dongle" or "Adapter"?

(...) Well that explains the presence of "adapter/dongle" on the Internet. Thanks for passing along the information! - David (18 years ago, 8-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: NXT Bluetooth "Dongle" or "Adapter"?

In article <J8Ds7J.73z@lugnet.com>, David J. Perdue <david@davidjperdue.com> writes (...) Essentially they are synonyms. Formal: TDK manufacture Bluetooth adapters. Informal: I have a Bluetooth dongle sticking out of the side of my laptop. "Dongle" (...) (18 years ago, 8-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  NXT Bluetooth "Dongle" or "Adapter"?

I've noticed that the MindStorms User Guide in the NXT set and official Lego websites refer to using a Bluetooth "dongle" for your computer, but Bluetooth "adapter" is also commonly used elsewhere. In fact, I'm using the DBT-120 adapter, which is an (...) (18 years ago, 7-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

How to: BT dongle not supported work with NXT

Hi people, After a lot of effort and googling around, i managed how to make a cheap "blue soleil" USB bluetooth dongle comunicate with NXT. I have information that this one was not supported, but with some "software adjustments", now it is working (...) (18 years ago, 30-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  NXT Life

I have written a version of the life simulator for the NXT using NBC. It probably could be optimized even more but I thought I'd let you guys see it in action. (URL) the samples section, first item. John Hansen (18 years ago, 29-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: NXT-G: Structured Programming

(...) Today one of my students made a myblock out of a 545KB program. He simply copy and pasted it into a myblock. It reduced to 45KB! (18 years ago, 28-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: NBC with NXT - crash!

(...) Well, I had to replace the batteries yesterday, and with the new batteries this no longer crashes! Seems weird to me, but there you are. Has anybody else seen weird behaviour with their NXT when the batteries are running low? ROSCO (18 years ago, 27-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  Re: NXT-G: Structured Programming

(...) Agreed. I've seen this approach being bounced around with some FLL teams, and it's really a nice solution to the limited memory issues some are having. Not only can they switch between programs rapidly, but this can potentially save a *lot* of (...) (18 years ago, 23-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: LCD image editor for the NXT -- at LEGO Engineering.com

(...) Ah, so it's just the documentation which is unclear. (...) Yep, that now draws correctly and returns -3 same as faceopen.ric. Thanks! ROSCO (18 years ago, 22-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: LCD image editor for the NXT -- at LEGO Engineering.com

(...) The way that RIC files are drawn, a valid file will always produce an error result. This is because the code iterates through all the opcodes in the RIC file, executing each of them in turn until there are no more opcodes left. At that point (...)   Re: LCD image editor for the NXT -- at LEGO Engineering.com

(...) Hmmm. Just created a simple image and uploaded it using the NXT explorer, but when I try to display it, nothing displays and syscall returns -122. Same program displays faceopen.ric ok, but curiously syscall returns -3 for that, even though (...) (18 years ago, 21-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: LCD image editor for the NXT -- at LEGO Engineering.com

(...) nxtRICEdit is a utility written by Andreas Dreier. The lego engineering site does not make this clear. Andreas is working on an enhanced version of this editor to add support for some of the more advanced features of the RIC format. Some form (...)   Re: NBC with NXT - crash!

(...) Running this program on my NXT does not cause mine to crash. Are you definitely running the 1.03 firmware? You can see the version using Settings|NXT Version on the NXT or from the Diagnostic window in BricxCC. My brick shows 01.1240/01.03 in (...) (18 years ago, 21-Oct-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)
