I understand the handy board has motor drivers for wheeled applications,
but what about 6 legged robots.  These use 12 PWM servos.

How can the handy board be used to control a 6 legged critter?

Scott Edwards makes a nice board called the mini-ssc which takes a serial RS232 signal and drives 8 servos. You can chain two of these for the capability of driving 16 servos. I've used one and it works quite well and is very small and light. Cost (...) (28 years ago, 13-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
