Hello. Several questions. What is the best way to charge the board? Through charger board or to teh board directly. Also, when i am chanrging it, am I charging the internal battery or the external NiCD batteries? Also, does the board have its own (...) (26 years ago, 14-May-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| | Shorted Handyboard

Finishing mounting our handyboard to the chasis of our robot, we shorted the board. A screwdriver made contact near the IR reciever on the bottom right corner of the board. Additionally, the 2.5A fuse blew. After this occured, we have not been able (...) (26 years ago, 13-May-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| | Does the HB NEED 9.6 volts?

I am planning on using stepper motors with a handy board, which hopefully I will have in a week :) The specs on the HB say it uses 9.6 volts. Is this a required voltage? or can it be another rating as long as it is within the regulators limits. (...) (26 years ago, 13-May-98, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) I had exactly the same problem. There is a CMOS chip by Motorola called the MC14028B that is a BCD-to-decimal or Binary-to-octal decoder.
