  Re: Assembler

(...) I'm pretty sure that files assembled this way will work with the freeware IC as well. Please note one big GOTCHA with ICB files. On the MS-DOS platform, the ICB files must have Unix-style line termination. OK, what does that mean. In a text (...) (28 years ago, 15-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) 1. please read the IC manual, which is now localized for the Handy Board. this explains how the ICB system works in detail. look on the HB home page to find the IC manual. 2. yes, you need as11_ic. mac and unix versions are readily available.   Smoothing capacitors on motors?

I am using a couple of 6V motors and I have read that it is a good idea to put a capacitor across the terminals of each motor. Although I see references to this practice all over, no one has indicated what ratings this capacitor should have. Does (...) (28 years ago, 15-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  motor voltages

Along similar lines, anyone know of a nice way to regulate 9.6V down to 6 or so, at 2 or 3 amps peak? I'm looking for something that's efficient, and won't try to burn itself out during normal use. Possibly something like the LM317 is available in (...) (28 years ago, 13-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

6V motors off of 9.6V (again)

Yes, once again, I'm exploring the idea of running some 6V motors off of the handy board's 9.6V battery. Basically, I'm worried that if I do this, I'm going to burn out _another_ pair of motors. (Though the last couple were 3V, these are 6...) How (...) (28 years ago, 13-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Extention Board?

I heard that there is an extention board for the HandyBoard. Does anyone know if it is available yet, and where I can get one? Price also?
