What is your application of the robot? Gregg, I bought the assembled board. However, the supplier also sells unassembled kits. Check (URL) for the descriptions. Additionally, in further communications with the supplier, he mentioned that I could have avoided the wire fee by sending a (...) (27 years ago, 11-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
 
  Hall Effect Trans.
 
I have to measure the speed of a wheel similiar to a bicycle wheel. I figure the best way (or at least one way) to do it is to use a hall effect transistor switching into a counter. Does anyone have any suggestions for a part/manufacturer to use for (...) (27 years ago, 11-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I'd like to hear what you come up with as well. Presently I just use the magnet/coil sensor pairs that you can buy in any bike store. You just hook the shield to ground, and the other wire to, say, an input-capture pin of a 68HC11, with a 3.3 K pull (...) (27 years ago, 11-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
