  Motorola Microprocessor source

Does anyone have a source for the following parts or suitable substitutes: Motorola 6811 microprocessor Hitachi 16x2 LCD Sharp IS1U60 infrared demodulator SGS-Thompson L293D motor driver William F. Conroy III conroyw@acm.org Lt Col, USAF (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Motorola Microprocessor source

(...) Most Connor disk drives have a 68HC11A1FN on them. If you find someone throwing one away, it is a cheap HC11. (...) Digi-key sells these. (...) Ben Wirz sells these. Also look for the TI replacement possibly. (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Hall Sensor

Hi, Does anyone have recent model #'s, part #'s, or suppliers for Hall Effect magnetic sensors that interface directly with the Handy Board. There is a picture of a Hall sensor on page 52 of the Handy Board Technical Reference, but no part number or (...) (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) I just looked back to the IR transmitter schematic... The 1K res + RED LED you see there is for the only purpose of having a visible feedback of IR transmission. The IR Led and it's limiting resistor (if the case) will be connected in series (...) (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  LCD compatible

Does anyone have experience using a Truly MCC162A1-2 16x2 LCD? I bought one from Wirz electronics for the handyboard. In assembly step 6.something, it says to power it up and there should be *faint* segments lit, if they are dark check pin1 to (...) (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) How are you gonna get 100 ma through a 1k resistor biased by 5volts?? The max would be 5ma. I have *never* heard of a LED this size that can handle more than 20ma!! This LED is tiny. I don't know where pin one of the jumper goes to or its use (...) (28 years ago, 19-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  re: ztx614

(...) I think it must better be a darlinghton and it must support enough current: if you want to get 0.1A or more pulsed current in the IR led, the transistor must have a rather high current gain, more than that of an ordinary npn trans (by the way (...) dear all, please be aware that whenever you post a message to the list, you will get some bounces back. this does not mean your message didn't go through. instead, it means that there were a few bad addresses on the list. there are always at least (...)   External power for motors

Hello, Y'all! I was wondering if anyone has done this: Cut the trace leading to the H.B. Motor driver chips, and then re-wired it so that you can use external power supply/ I know I saw it somewhere on the 'web... Could anyone give me a URL or (...)   Re: IR collision avoidance

(...) The Radio Shack LEDs should work fine. The trick is that these things are very sensitive to intensity, duty cycle, and frequency stability. To modify intensity change the amount of current flowing through the LED (lower resistor value == more (...) (28 years ago, 18-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Hi Joe, From the code below I see that there are a few things that I see that may be a bit incorrect. In the main() function, I see that there is a statement "while(1);". I've posted the wrong code. Try this one: void time(int d) {d+=1;} void main() {int d; while(1); start_process(time(d), 1, 50); } Joe (28 years ago, 18-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Pandit, I thought that I would post it to the mailing list.It seems to work fine on its own but I had problems using it in one program. If I reconfigure a bit I might get it to work. void time(int d) {d+=1;} void main() {int d; start_process(time(d), (...)   mini board boards

Does anyone know who I can puchase a couple of mini-boards? I only need the printed circuit boards. I don't need a full kit. Thanks Ed Arnold hilander@bellsouth.net (28 years ago, 18-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
