  Vision Command for newbies

The vision command's been sitting on the shelf for some time, so I thought I'd try and use it. Problem is, I'm quite disappointed with the picture quality. I wonder if anything is wrong with the camera. What kind of quality should I expect? What I (...) (22 years ago, 16-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: replacement for IR-communication

We have done this. That is retro-fitted an RCX with a bluetooth module. It involves hardware hacking the RCX, which will "void the warranty". Don't do it unless you can afford to completely break your RCX, and can afford a spare! Can I ask, are you (...) (22 years ago, 7-Oct-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Non-robotic type speaking here: It seems to me that some enterprising individual with, say, access to a CNC machine, a pantograph, an injection molding machine and some spare wire could really fill a niche here. (...) Webcams, especially ones with tiny lenses like the Lego cam, don't like incandescent light (regular filament bulbs). They're a bit better (less orange) with striplights or energy saving bulbs. They're much better with sunlight. The speckles (...) (22 years ago, 17-Sep-03, to lugnet.robotics)

i2c protocol with the rcx (was Brainstorms)

Hi, I tested the RCX-to-I2C-board from Elector Electronics. I think it's very good for educating and experimenting where the user learns very much about the protocol and function of the i2c bus. (...) Yes, it's right .... you can use the RCX to (...) (23 years ago, 31-Aug-02, to lugnet.robotics)
