Hi.
I sincerely doubt that LEGO has ever released logic bricks.
However, I think that it is a great idea. However, a
two input NAND brick and a bridge would be much more useful.
As for symbols. Are you refering to the traditional pictorial
symbols or those dreadful IEEE boxes?
Now then, power and timing might get to be a bit of a problem.
But, those are pretty much always problems anyway. I suppose
that you would like to have RS and D filp flops and one shots
as well. If you were really energetic, I suppose that you could
try to LEGO the entire TTL databook, but that would require some
pretty big bricks.
I'm getting silly. I had best go to bed. Best Wishes.

|
| I just received the Lego Mindstorms RIS v1.5 as an early Christmas present, but the RCX unit itself says "1.0" on it. Do all of them say this? It doesn't have the AC adapter plug anywhere, and the serial number is 371372 so I'm pretty sure it's a (...) (25 years ago, 24-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| Hi Andy. The reason for symbols for AND or NAND or whatever is because those are what are used when you draw circuit diagrams. Essentially, the idea is pedagogical. Once you are familiar with them, the tradiitional AND, NAND, NOR, XOR, &c. symbols (...) (25 years ago, 24-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| Why put a drawing or IEEE boxes or whatever? You could just write on the side AND. I think it would be much simpler. Andy (...) (25 years ago, 25-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| I saw someone's (sorry can't remember who) diagram for constructing an AND function with two touch sensors and three wires and this got me to thinking, it would be relativly easy to make an AND gate brick (it could even have a little schematic AND (...)
