Mark, you are right about taking precautions about lead/tin solder products.
The acid core solder (nobody is using this, right?) is corrosive to the board
and components, so be sure to wash the board thouroughly. The newer no-clean
fluxes emit very corrosive fumes, so be sure to use them in a well ventilated
area. DON'T hang your head over the project and inhale the fumes... DUH!
I find it interesting that you are worried about ingesting lead that has
rubbed off fingers and onto cigarettes. I'd worry about all the crap in
the cigarette first :-)
