Hi Vlad
Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit curious though,
who exactly do you class as a non Lego fan?
(1)someone who doesn't use Lego at all.
(2)someone who uses lego mostly but doesn't mind going
outside of the Lego universe for a bit more functionality
(3)someone who likes testing out robotics ideas using
Lego products before making more permanent designs.
My own guess at the definition of a "non Lego fan" would probably
be the first. I've been using Lego Technic for quite a while and
would not class myself as a "non Lego fan" I find it an incredible
medium for robotics design. Unlike a lot of people I never had
to rediscover Lego Technic as I,ve never lost interest in it.
The other point I'd like to make is that if the definition of
a "non Lego fan" is someone who uses non standard Lego products
to increase the functionality of Lego in a general sense,
then shouldn't that apply to anyone who uses programming languages
like the excellent NQC or Legos environment over the standard RIS
software.
Whilst Lego purists might shy away from using non Lego parts such as
the Stamp and BasicX, I can't understand why other more pragmatic
"Lego fans" see them for the valuable suplement to the hobby that
they are.
I think the argument that Vlad uses puts a limit on

| (...) well, okay... I might not have used the most proper expression... English is not my native language, and sometimes it plays tricks on me... what I meant was that probably there is another forum for BasicX users; It is very possible that there (...)
