| | I am coaching a team in the FLL contest. I need a supply of those 5 or 6 nub diameter foam balls -- at least 30. Does anyone have an idea of a source? Is there any similar thing that comes from Nerf? How many balls come with the RoboSports expansion (...) (25 years ago, 20-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | | (...) Finding your own balls isn't really as difficult as it sounds -- you just have to know where to look. Most Toys backward R Us stores have a large Nerf selection with a variety of sizes and shapes. They're usually larger than the balls that (...) (25 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(2 URLs) if you're attending MindFest™ this coming weekend, FIRST's founder, Dean Kamen, will be part (...) (25 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.events)

| | | | (...) Didn't the FLL organizers foresee the need for balls? Have you guys considered using ping pong balls instead? Very close in size to the original robo sport balls I would think. Uniform and easily obtainable. Somewhat heavier I think. <ICS> (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | (...) You get 5 balls with the FLL extension set, but the contest uses up to 30 per team, and we are trying to simulate a contest. Of particular interest is whether the bins will get full and start overflowing. The balls are about 1.5 inches in (...) (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | (...) Don't know if this will help in any way. I happen to have a Pisco-Dacta catalog in front of me (gonna put in an order) and under Tools and Supplies, they have some sponge balls. The ones I see here are 3" lightweight foam balls. Color Vary. (...) (25 years ago, 22-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
