| | I/o's expansions for the mindstorm ? Philippe Jadin
|
| | Hi! Rcx has only 3 i/o's. I was wondering if anybody had made a real expansion board (not fake tricks with 1 light+1switch sensor on the same port. I'd be very interested byt something more complex...) with IR comunication ? This could add a lot of (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | (...) Yeah, I would really like to see such an expansion too! Someone was talking about an I2C bus interface, but the thread appearently died out - Is someone working on this?. I could also think of a "dummy RCX" which cannot be programmed but will (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

|
| | | | | Is it possible to get the uploaded datalog from the RCX into a file using Rcx Command Center? (PS great work Dave and Mark!) Failing that, does someone have a *simple* (ie one which needs no interaction apart from giving a filename) Win95 prog. that (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| | | | | The mindstorm internals (very very good pages...) : (URL) has a section called "Communication". Here is the beginning : "The RCX uses a 38kHz carrier, which is pretty typical for TV remotes. As for the sampling rate, the RCX runs at 2400 bps, which (...) This might not be relevant for everyone out there, but I thought I'd point out: If you use a learning remote to learn the codes from the MindStorms remote control, please note that all combinations of the three motor controls send out a (...) | | | | (...) I tinkered with some multiplex schemes like this (URL) that simply connect different sensors to a single input in a fixed sequence. It workes OK for passive sensors like touch or temperature or voltage inputs. To make it work with active (...) (25 years ago, 8-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)
