At the risk of taking another thread down, I would caution you about taking
this attitude.
I am one of the first to admit that the Recursion thread went a bit deep
very fast. However, it did have to do with the RCX, specifically,
programming.
If the Mindstorms didn't include a semi-sophisticated computer, I would
agree with you. Except, it does and discussions such as these are just as
relevant as home brew sensors and pneumatic constructs.
To be honest, I am not a big hardware guy. However I do love to program the
little beast, and I get just as excited about reducing an algorythm by 10
or 20 instructions as others get about rotational tracking.
I've been lurking on this list since last December and I have seen plenty
of discussions go down some serious rabbit holes. I have learned something
new from most of them, others I skip.
Besides, it's just a toy.
