RE: MindStorms at Robot Store (Hacking Lego Compatible Parts) —Jason Cooper
We don't currently carry the "parts" that expand the MindStorms product line, but we're working to get a distributor account for those "Dacta" accesories. Check out (URL) for the extra sensors and stuff, for now. Also, for all you "hackers" out (...) (26 years ago, 10-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) And that's the catch (price). The reason I build my own sensors is due to the price. A touch sensor is a miniture momentary-on push-button mounted inside a block (with a wire and alligator clips to connect to the RCX). Basically free except (...)          RE: MindStorms at Robot Store (Hacking Lego Compatible Parts) —Tilman Sporkert
Here's a piece I could use: a touch sensor (switch) that is normally closed, with a diode in it. The diode could also be separate, in a brick with contacts on the top and the bottom, so you can stack the sensor, the diode, and your hookup wire. It (...) What I would find VERY useful would be a 3x2 lego block with the built in electrical contacts on the posts. Something like the empty (...) (26 years ago, 11-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: MindStorms at Robot Store (Hacking Lego Compatible Parts) —CyberUser
I have some black ones as well, I think its for colour coding - yellow for sensors, black for third motor. I think I prefer the old grey cable as its more flexible. Perhaps the stiff thin black cable is supposed to last longer. On the Cybermaster (...) (26 years ago, 11-Nov-98, to lugnet.robotics)
