since the other site got /.ed I thought people might want to see these images. I have not heard about the "Battle Droid Mindstorms" set. It might be an error. Anyway, the links are: (URL) looks like a *lot* of specialized parts... Dwayne (25 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I don't know about that many specialized parts. I see parts from the 1999 supercar, tubing from the RIS / cyberslam sets, standard tubing. the connectors from some of the giant model set. Granted that these are special pieces, but at least they're (...) (25 years ago, 17-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) The two large white pieces at the front corners are part of many new '99 Technic sets. The egg-shaped device in its belly could be some electronic device with three blue push buttons. wow, you guys are good. I looked at the picture and I couldn't identify many standard parts. I haven't seen the new Technic sets yet (I am very disappointed in the selection in Houston, the ToysRUs and even FAO Schwartz have very few Technic sets - (...) (...) That's what I think too. But look at the two gears in the gear train that powers the wheels of the l-3go robot: Aren't they new? I don't think I have seen that kind of gears before. Also, it looks like the white electronix unit has (at least) (...) (25 years ago, 18-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Observations: It looks like it's the barcode pilot all over again: lots of brains isolated from the outside world (scarce in/outputs). Appearantly there is one motor and a speaker built in, and NO 9V in- or output! It wouldn't surprise me if it was (...) (25 years ago, 22-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)
