If you don't have at least 50 #16 beams, you're gonna wish you had
more... the lately demised XXL building set is a good deal, especially
on clearance. Plenty of beams. Not so much gears, but a lot of long
beams, and a huge amount of really long axles, relatively.

| (...) The 779928/779927 Beams packages from Lego Dacta come with 4 each of the #16, #12, #10, #8, and #6 beams as well as 8x #4 and 16x #2 beams. At least in what I have done so far, I wind up needing as many of the #12 beams as I do the #16 beams. (...) (26 years ago, 16-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)
