Has anyone toyed with the idea of having your robot talk? I've thought
about trying to convert a wave file from pulse code modulation to frequency
modulation and try to get it to play on the RCX but I don't think that
there will be enough resolution to get it to work. Perhaps a more workable
solution would be to hook a speaker up to one of the motor ports. Using
the speed control and forward/reverse, you could effectively get 16 speaker
positions at 100hz. This might be good enough to at least recognize a sound.
Any thoughts?

| Hi Joel, the legOS sound driver is what you'd like to play with, I guess. Currently, it offers 1 bit / 8kHz playback, which sounds just horrible. There's also a perl script to convert wav files to this format. I tried the standard PC speaker PCM (...) (26 years ago, 31-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)
