NJRC 2006 - Robots to go into water

This year’s National Junior Robotics Competition (NJRC) 2006 is more exciting than ever. The organizers at the Singapore Science Centre has set some devilish missions including one that requires your robot to literally go into water. To a depth of 5 (...)   Re: Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest '06

(...) I found this out. I bought five boxes of Zamors (50 balls) that were going cheap when the LEGO store in Kingston, UK, was closing down. Unfortunately, they're too big to go through something like the 2x2 shaft of a ball pump. I had to buy some (...) (19 years ago, 18-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  BricxCC release 3.3.7.15

I have today made the current test release of BricxCC (with a few minor NBC-related changes) into an official release (version 3.3.7.15). I have also released a new beta of NBC (1.0.1.b5) which includes improvements in the built-in preprocessor (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Robolab

You can download a demo of Robolab at LEGO education: (URL) is only version 2.0 which will show you quite a bit. The newest release, Robolab 2.9, will support the RCX and the NXT. Tonya (...) ---...--- Tonya L. Witherspoon College of Education, (...) (19 years ago, 14-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Follow That Line - BrickFest Style

Is there any more information about date/time/location? I'll be bringing a robot for this one. (19 years ago, 17-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: Mindstorms software

There is also an issue with processors with Hyper-threading and RIS 2.0 : (URL) it is the case, then Lego has a patch : (URL) (19 years ago, 16-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms software

I had it working for a while on XP but then it would crash during the tutorials and the computer would not work correctly until I rebooted. I think the problem is with Quicktime 3.x. It did not seem to install it correctly as it reported that it was (...) (19 years ago, 16-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms software

Tom, In my last msg, I would like to clear up one misleading statement. I use Bricxcc and NQC. I don't like Graphic interfaces in lieu of "C" type programming language. Lamar "lledford" <lsrgroup@etcmail.com> wrote in message (...) (19 years ago, 15-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  list of NXT sites

I got an email from a blog reader the other day requesting a summary of all the NXT-related sites I've come across. I figured I'd just post it here so I don't have to re-type it down the road. Please add URLs because I'm certain I've missed some. (...) (19 years ago, 15-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms software

(...) I'd back this. If there's a strong background with C, you could use NQC indeed, as Lamar suggested. If you are more into an object oriented approach, the java-based leJOS platfrom (www.leJOS.org) may be an option for you. Regards, Matthias (...) (19 years ago, 15-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms software

Tom, The answer is yes for sure if you have WindowsXP with SP1 and SP2 installed. I have many Windows98 and ME installed on my system and they all work well. All you have to do is to click on start -> Programs -> Accessories and finally click on the (...) (19 years ago, 14-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

In article <5784415.post@talk.nabble.com>, Tom Stiles <lego- robotics@crynwr.com> wrote (...) I think it is only sold separately.   Re: Fw: Robolab

There's a question! I thought the same myself, so I looked around to see if there was something like an evaluation copy, but there were none. I ended up 'borrowing' a copy. If I really like it I may still buy it. linmix (...) (19 years ago, 14-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Fw: Robolab

I'm a newbie and am sure this has been answered before but why (as an individual developer) would I want to use Robolab as opposed to the individual Mindstorms Software that comes w/RCX? I guess the bottomline is - Is it worth an extra $69? On that (...) (19 years ago, 13-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Robolab

Thanks for the information. I am new and still learning. An example is that I bought a used kit off Ebay assuming Robolab would be included. Wrong, I was dead wrong (no fault of the seller just my inexperince). So now I am looking for a copy of (...) (19 years ago, 13-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)
