  Re: Microsoft Robotics Studio

(...) Another potentially useful environment and different way to design a robotics program. You may not like it, you may love it! SDK's and IDEs are somewhat religious topics among developers. (...) Huh, you now if I didn't know better, I would say (...) (19 years ago, 26-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NXT in stock at S@H USA

Re: NXT in stock at S@H USA

(...) I just got notice that mine has shipped as of saturday (yesterday)! Dave (19 years ago, 26-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Great Ball Contraption

(...) My intent was just getting some feedback from the community in my original post. I hope I didn't sound snippy, but definitely a bit frustrated. The thing that has my curiosity is the obvious overlap of NXT, RCX, technic and basically every (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Great Ball Contraption

(...) You were drowned out by the vast and noisy response to events in NXT-land. Sadly, I can't get to Brickfest. I strongly advise against creating yet another forum for discussing GBC. Keep it here please. Your new GBC website is very nice - I (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NXT in stock at S@H USA

(...) FYI, I'm been not following for a long time since the MDP started (ah well, hopefully next time) but mine shipped on Friday which was a shock to me. I thought these sets would be back logged till July/August. Can't wait... -aps (19 years ago, 25-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Great Ball Contraption

I think the site would be more valuable if it focused JUST on GBC. I gave up on it as a resource after poking around and not finding sufficient GBC information. I'm a complete newbie, no real idea what GBC is. The front page says "It can't be (...) (19 years ago, 25-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Great Ball Contraption

(...) OK...Does the community care one bit about my efforts to centralize GBC at all? I would like to think that I haven't been wasting my time for the past few months. I will take zero responses to this post as a 'no'. Dave (19 years ago, 25-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Microsoft Robotics Studio

I guess my postings (here and elsewhere) have been amongst the dozen that are way off topic. But I still don't get it. What is MSRS giving me that I want? It may be well thought-out and implemented but so what? I'll certainly look closely at the (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: C Programming Solution for NXT - Beta Available

(...) I think I speak for everyone in appreciating the huge effort John has put in on BrickCC with no financial reward. I also appreciate that certain folks would like to get compensated for their efforts, which appears to be the case with RobotC. I (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Microsoft Robotics Studio

(...) I just got back from Robobusiness, where I spoke on OMG Robotics Standards (URL) I attended four hours worth of sessions on the MS Robotics Studio. I was prepared to pooh-pooh it as just another over-hyped lukewarm effort that MS would try to (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: C Programming Solution for NXT - Beta Available

(...) Dick told me in a private email that RobotC will remain a strictly commercial offering for the foreseeable future due to his desire to earn back all the sweat equity he has invested in the product. He also urged me to not add support for his (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Microsoft Robotics Studio

Microsoft recently announced incremental evolution of their earlier "Robotics Studio" platform. See www.microsoft.com/pr...udioPR.msp x. Soren Lund of Lego is quoted in the press release. It appears to me that this initiative is not really (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Microsoft enters robotics race

(...) Too easy! * Invites burglers into the house - although there is an optional accessory (which unfortunately you can only rent by the month) that will make the robot frown and wag it's finger at them sternly. * If it finds robots from other (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Microsoft enters robotics race

(...) SNIP will all their robots come with CTRL-ALT-DEL buttons & a monitor to display the 'bluescreen of death'? "Windows cannot find the program 'chores.exe'; please download more virus prone patches for the other patches that didn't work, or else (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

NXT in stock at S@H USA

Just got off the phone with LEGO shop at home USA to cancel my NXT order. They said the NXT came in yesterday. Don't know if they will start shipping pre-orders now, or wait till July 1, but if you have your pre order in, there is chance you might (...) (19 years ago, 20-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NXT Sensor and Motor Schematics

I've posted my schematic diagrams of selected NXT items, namely the Light, Sound and Ultrasound sensors and the motor with position feedback.
