Re: Game Boy + LEGO = Robot

(...) Yes, but if you slightly trim one end of a Technic bush it can be press-fitted in wheel hole and allow easy and tight axle mounting... Philo (19 years ago, 29-May-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: Problem with RCX

(...) I agree - and furthermore, whilst a dead short might well cause a battery leak (when the batteries get hot, the contents can expand and rupture the cell) - it's kinda unusual for a battery leak to cause a dead short - the corrosive gunk inside (...)   Re: Problem with RCX

(...) The dead short could have caused the batteries to leak. That's probably the only way to get batteries to leak in only a week. (19 years ago, 28-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Game Boy + LEGO = Robot

(...) Ahh, between the two articles; yours and the one on Charmed Labs, I learned a lot about this technology. THANK YOU e p.s. yes those Omni Wheels are very cool! (19 years ago, 27-May-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Eric, I came across this some time ago, and even thought about seriously as a controller, although quids in its a bit pricy to buy the device and a GBA if you havent already got one just to use this.   Problem with RCX

I have a 2.0 RCX that is only about 6 months old. I had just put a new set of batteries in it the other day and it was working fine. I had not used it for about a week and then tried it out and it was completely dead. I opened up the battery box and (...) (19 years ago, 26-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: NXT Line Follower

Just wondering whether the same (unmodified) program will also work when you set the robot to follow in the opposite direction. It appears that you're following the outer edge of the line and I was wondering about the performance when following the (...) (19 years ago, 26-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Ultrasonic sensor interactions

Hello John, (...) I have played with this command, it seems that only the low nibble of paramater is useful. The interval range goes from 12.5ms for 0 to 3s for 0xf. Interval seems to be roughly proportional to the square of the parameter. I have (...) (19 years ago, 24-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Ultrasonic sensor interactions

(...) Excellent! Thanks for the update, and it's great to know this is availible within the HW. I wish NXT-G had access, but... well, either it eventually will, or LEGO has specificly included goodies in the FW just for 3rd party environments. (...) (19 years ago, 22-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Ultrasonic sensor interactions

(...) I can confirm that the 0x2, 0x41, 0x0 "off" command does, indeed, turn off the clicking sound that you can hear coming from the US sensor. I can also confirm that the 0x2, 0x40, 0xNN "set measurement interval" command does set the measurement (...) (19 years ago, 22-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)
