  Problem with RCX
 
I have a 2.0 RCX that is only about 6 months old. I had just put a new set of batteries in it the other day and it was working fine. I agree - and furthermore, whilst a dead short might well cause a battery leak (when the batteries get hot, the contents can expand and rupture the cell) - it's kinda unusual for a battery leak to cause a dead short - the corrosive gunk inside (...) (...) I wanted to let everyone know that I was able to fix my RCX and tell you what was wrong with it. There was a bridge between the positive terminal pad and a very thin portion of the ground plane along the outer edge of the PCB. Apparently the (...) (18 years ago, 2-Jun-06, to lugnet.robotics)
