Shall we create one?

Well, there isn't really a hurry.  The beasts won't be on sale
until August.

I think that before we split the group in two (which can be
damaging to the usefulness of the group when we AREN'T talking
about specific computers, motors and sensors...which is actually,
almost all of the time).  So we should carefully evaluate the
degree of compatibility between RCX and NXT and use that as the
basis to decide.

If it turns out that in fact they share a lot in common - then
we no more need an NXT group than we need a 'Scout' group or an
old-style 12v motor group.

However, if the NXT turns out to be utterly different in most
respects to the current line of parts then maybe it's worth
doing the split.

Either way, we don't have to make a decision until August
(at the VERY earliest) - or more likely, about a year
from now when people have gotten NXT's under their 2006
Xmas tree and have had a few weeks to play with them.

Splitting the group right now is utterly pointless - and
I'd strongly oppose it.

I vote we wait a full 12 months and then decide.

Lugnet in the past, IIRC, has created new newsgroups as soon as it was clear
that there was a separate category, rather than waiting till close to or even
after release. Thus, if I'm remembering correctly, there's precedent.
