The thing is there are already RCX, Scout, Microscout, spybotics, and
cybermastger sub-groups, and it hasn't hurt anything.

Perhaps topics discussed on one of those lists would have been of tremendous value to someone on one of the other lists - since that person didn't see the message, they'd never know that they'd suffered.
