(...) don't give up. without any programming, the remote will drive the spybot. button 1 & 4 control the right motor, button 3 & 5 control the left motor. It seems messed up, but that's how it is. If the motors go the wrong way, you can switch the (...) (20 years ago, 3-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics)

All, I've got an RCX 1.0, and my son has a 1.5. Is there anything that would cause problems if I loaded 1.5 firmware into a 1.0 RCX? While on the topic, what about 2.0 firmware in a 1.0 RCX? (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi, there is no problem! ;-) I have also an "old" rcx1.0 with a mindstorm 1.5 kit. some weeks ago I have to build the 2.0 kit with the rcx1.5 (one reason is, I needed an usb tower). So I update both rcx withe the newest firmware from LEGOs website (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) No, that won't cause any problems. The software versions are all interchangable between the RCXs, so you can use 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 software/firmware on 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0 RCXs. I have both 1.0 and 2.0 RCXs, and I use the same firmware on both. (...) (20 years ago, 6-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics)
