It would be low cost (since it is passive) and offer much better resolution than the current rotation sensor for applications requiring <270 degrees (...) | I think gear blocks like that would be awesome. So long as they still follow standard lego units, they probably convey a lot of advantages over the standard gears. They can probably handle a boatload more torque, great for robots, especially arms, (...) (21 years ago, 23-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics)
