Dear all,
we've built an automatic train switching mechanism using the RCX. It detects
trains using reed contacts (cheap devices sensitive to magnets) and switches
two points so that the train stops and another one departs instead.
We've tried to use only "usual" parts for the point switches, but obviously
each of them requires one 9V motor ...
I've spent the night to assemble some instructions on our website. Have a
look at http://anne.wangnick.bei.t-online.de/sebastian.htm and tell me what
you think about it.
Eagerly awaiting your responses,
Sebastian and Hauke Wangnick

| (...) I like it - it's quite a simple and neat idea for a project, and best of all it means you don't have to have the RCX controlling power to the trains. At some point I'll have to render my point motors though. I use an extra axle with a bush (...) (23 years ago, 11-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)
