Solar Cell Output in Direct Sunlight

Well, it finally got sunny here. In direct sunlight, the solar cell seems to put out about 4V, 135mA (24 years ago, 23-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dacta)

  Re: Curved Feet

After viewing the walder movie, I wonder if it would work with flat feet, and an ankle joint? Gravity would keep the flat foot pointed down when the leg was lifted. - pete. (...) -- Pete Sevcik sevcik@flash.net Techno-stuff Robotics (URL) for FUN ! (24 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Is this set still available? If so, does anyone know where it may be purchased? (URL) (24 years ago, 24-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Curved Feet

What kind of ankle joint? A motorized one, or passive one? If it is the first type I think the leg will be too heavy to be moved quickly. That is critical since the robot falls onto itself. Looking closer at the design, I think that you only need to (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Solar Cell Output in Direct Sunlight

(...) I'd suggest that you try this again mid-summer. The solar radiation angle is still fairly low at this time of year with much of the energy being scattered by the atmosphere as well as being spread over a larger surface area of the earth. I (...)   Re: Solar Cell Output in Direct Sunlight

(...) Well, I could certainly create an artificial environment which would increase the solar cell's output without the need for scheduling another test on the summer solstice, if you were merely curious as to its maximum output based on the cell's (...)   Extreme Mindstorms Book Question

Hi all, I am looking at buying the book - Extreme Mindstorms. Any comments welcome. I am an advanced user, and am looking for some ideas. For those who have it, what customized sensors do they provide instructions to build? Dave (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Extreme Mindstorms Book Question

For an advanced user, you will enjoy this book. I brings together some of the best of people. Michael Gasperi's part four in the book gets into passive and powered sensors. There include, the coin detector, Stick in ring switch, Thermistor temp (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Extreme Mindstorms Book Question

I have to disagree here. I have looked at all the current Mindstorms books and NONE of them are much use to the advanced user. I have only been into Minstorms for 4 months, but everything in these books, I had either figured out for myself, or found (...) (24 years ago, 26-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)
